My abstract expressionism painting resembles a Jackson Pollock action painting. I really love the space in the painting and how the detail isn't overwhelming. I used more feminine colors on the pastel side. I wanted the painting to have a natural soothing feel and for me it does. I didn't mean to use the peach color in the painting but I like how it turned out. The shapes have a very natural form to them. There is a stronger emphasis on the bottom sides of the painting where the color is packed together. For me the repetition of the splatter pattern gives the soothing calming element to the design. I would like to see a series of this pattern maybe one focused around aqua, blue, and green tones. When I close my eyes and look again I see a shattered glass effect, maybe i stained glass as where the pattern overlaps you can see tones underneath with is like stained glass. I like this lesson.
